# Install and configure Qentrah Languages

Follow the source instructions for **Qentrah Languages**. Read the prerequisites and configuration steps before running an example.

## Install

Upload `qentrah-languages.zip` under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Activate, then open Languages → Settings. The ZIP is independent of any theme. See [user guide](/docs/qentrah-languages/source-user-guide).

## Install the documented packages

Install the plugin ZIP on a WordPress site running WordPress 6.6 or later and PHP 8.1 or later. Back up your site before updating an existing installation.

## Install and activate

1. Download `qentrah-languages.zip` from the [product page](https://www.qentrah.com/templates/qentrah-languages) or a published repository release.
2. In WordPress, open **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin**.
3. Select the plugin ZIP, install it, and activate it.
4. Open **Languages → Settings** to configure your languages.

The offline manual ZIP contains documentation. It is not an installable WordPress plugin.

## Next steps

Follow the [user guide](/docs/qentrah-languages/source-user-guide) to add language codes, set text direction, and manage translation drafts. Adding a language does not automatically translate or publish content.

## Check the installation

After setup, continue with the [first example](/docs/qentrah-languages/quick-start-guide). If a command fails, compare the runtime version, working directory, and required configuration with the original README before changing dependencies.
