# Edit or export a guide

## Edit a local draft

1. Open the guide you want to edit.
2. Choose Edit draft above the article.
3. Change the Markdown source and check the preview.
4. Choose Save draft to store the draft in this browser, or Download Markdown to export it.

Read returns to the published article. Restore original resets the draft text to the published source. A local draft is not a GitHub commit and does not change what other visitors see. Browser storage may be cleared by browser settings.

Edit the repository README or relevant source files in a branch. Run the [source checks](/docs/qh/testing) for code changes, then submit a pull request to [qentrah/qh](https://github.com/qentrah/qh). Follow the repository's CONTRIBUTING.md and AGENTS.md.

Changing a documentation draft does not edit `qh.config.jsonc`. Use the app's [Settings](/docs/qh/configuration) to change app settings.
