# Run a first dashboard-ui-initializer example

Start with the smallest workflow described by the README for **dashboard-ui-initializer**. Complete [installation and configuration](/docs/up-to-code-dashboard-ui-initializer/installation-guide) first.

## Local Development

From the repository root:

```bash
npm run dev:workspace
```

From this app folder:

```bash
npm run dev
```

Default local URL: `http://localhost:3000`.

The dev script starts Next.js and Convex together. Use
`npm run dev:next` or `npm run dev:convex` when debugging only one side.

## Verify your changes

The root manifest provides this check:

```sh
npm run typecheck
```

Read any errors before continuing. Build and type checks verify source consistency; exercise the README example to verify the behavior you need.
