# Install and configure expense-tracker

Follow the source instructions for **expense-tracker**. Read the prerequisites and configuration steps before running an example.

## Get the source

```sh
git clone https://github.com/Up-to-code/expense-tracker.git
cd expense-tracker
```

## Install dependencies

Use the repository lockfile when choosing a package manager. The command below follows the captured root manifest and lockfiles.

```sh
npm ci
```

## Check the installation

After setup, continue with the [first example](/docs/up-to-code-expense-tracker/quick-start-guide). If a command fails, compare the runtime version, working directory, and required configuration with the original README before changing dependencies.
